I received not one, but two wonderful gifts in fandoms written by one of my favorite authors, Ilona Andrews! (The Kate Daniels series and The Breach Wars series.) And I'm including one more Ilona Andrews fic that I loved, as well as fic for the Singing Hills Cycle book series by Nghi Vo. I especially wanted to rec The Breach Wars fics because they're the first for that series, which is still uncategorized and not showing up in the Fandoms list, so I want to make sure they get some attention and hopefully a few more readers!

Yuletide Letter 2025

Likes: Happy endings (for both romance and gen). I enjoy fluffy fics, but I also enjoy angst as long as the story ends happily. For gen, I enjoy stories about family and friendship. For both romance and gen, I enjoy humor, drama, and hurt/comfort (especially emotional hurt/comfort). For romance, I'm fine with any rating--explicit, steamy fics are great, but I'm also happy if doesn't go beyond a kiss or fade to black. The emotional connection between the characters is more important to me than the level of physical affection.

This is very embarrassing, but due to having a lot going in real life, I never got around to reccing my Yuletide gift,, which was beautiful and exactly what I wanted, so I will belatedly rec it now and give it the praise that it deserves.

Likes: Happy endings (for both romance and gen). Romantic fluff is fine, but I also like angsty fics--as long as they eventually end happily. For gen, I have a soft spot for stories about family or friendship. For both romance and gen: humor, drama, hurt/comfort--it's all good, as long as it ends happily, or at least hopefully. (Actually, I have a pretty big narrative kink for emotional hurt/comfort in particular.) If you decide to write romance, I'm generally fine with any rating--explicit, steamy sex scenes are great, but I'm happy even if it doesn't go beyond a kiss or fade-to-black. The emotions that the characters share are more important to me than the level of physical affection.

Do Not Wants: Character death, noncon, incest (including step/adopted family members), BDSM, underage (meaning under 18) explicit fic, infidelity, threesomes/poly, mpreg.

This year I wrote for the Phoebe and Her Unicorn comic/graphic novel series. It's a delightfully silly and heartwarming story about a young girl named Phoebe who becomes friends with a unicorn named Marigold Heavenly Nostrils. As you might guess from Marigold's name, there's a lot of humor in this series, but I also love the theme of friendship, and I love Phoebe's relationship with her loving and nerdy parents.
