Trading Places art

Hey, everybody, go check out the awesome artwork that [personal profile] karasu_hime made for me for the Trading Places challenge! One piece is the full moon scene from Summer Vacation, where Lupin and the Japanese werewolves and kitsune (fox-spirits) change into their animal forms while Snape watches. The boy is Naoki, an OC, the grandson of Snape's Japanese host, and he looks so cute here that I want to write a new story centered around him, although he was just a minor character that I never really intended to bring back again. I love how his face looks a little foxish, since he's half-kitsune, although he can't change into a fox-shape like the other members of his family. He and Snape were feeling just a little bit left out in the beginning of this scene, being the only two humans watching all the canines frolic. ^_^ Love the cute little black wolf/fox cub, Miyako, too!

The second piece is a collage of scenes from my Always series--mostly from the first story "Always," from which the series takes its name; Summer Vacation is the second story in the series. It's so great, it's like seeing an overview of the history of their relationship! And in the bottom right corner are the two little wolf-figurines that Miyako made for them in Summer Vacation--they're supposed to represent Snape and Lupin, of course, and they have the red cord tying them together. (If you haven't read the story, it's in reference to a Japanese legend that people destined to be lovers are bound together by a red cord--this theme also shows up in the anime series Kimagure Orange Road, which is where I first heard of it.)

Even if you haven't read my stories, you should still go check out the pictures just to appreciate the beautiful artwork that Karasu did--I'm sure any Snupin fan will enjoy them. And as an added bonus, you get to see Snape in a kimono in the first piece!

If you're interested, my stories can be found here, on my website (scroll down to the middle of the page for the Always series), or on the Moonshadow archive by author ("Geri"), title, or series.

Hi Geri,

I've been out of fandom for a while and am utterly shocked to see scars complete. (headbangs) OMG. I'm glad to see you have an LJ might have a better chance of keeping up with hwat is going on.

glad you're hanging in there, even if the series is over. Will now go read. (smilies)

I so loved the little foxes from Summer! So cute! I friended you, hope you don't mind. I've loved this series for years I just got bad about commenting midway through aftermath.

Hi, no I don't mind that you friended me! That's what the journal's here for, so that my readers can keep up to date on my stories. It was difficult keeping the website up to date (I rely on a hard-working but busy volunteer because I'm a computer ignoramus), so I decided that it would be easier to post on LJ. It's simple enough that I can manage to update it myself, so the chapters get posted more quickly.

Don't feel bad about not commenting; I'm guilty of the same thing myself at times. I'm just glad that you enjoyed the series. And sometimes staying away is a good thing--now you can read Scars to the end without having to wait for me to finish writing! ^_^

And yes, the foxes are so cute! Karasu is one of my favorite artists, so I was thrilled that she decided to illustrate my fic!

:)

Glad you liked the pictures--Karasu really did a great job on them! The Always series is still ongoing, though, even though "Scars" is finished. In fact, I recently posted a story called "Fathers' Day" that is set shortly after "Scars" ends. You can find the first chapter here, with links to the following chapters:

I do intend to keep working on the series, although I'll also be working on some stand-alone Snupin stories and some Petshop of Horrors stuff.
