Arrgh!

I spent over two hours writing up a Yuletide recs post, carefully compiling links and writing out summaries and commentaries, then hit the wrong button and accidentally navigated away from the page. But I figured, hey, no problem--I had saved my latest draft, so all I need to do is say "yes" to the "Restore from saved draft?" prompt, right? Wrong! LJ ATE MY FREAKIN' POST!!! It reverted back to the bare bones list of fandoms that I had started last night before going to bed, planning to finish it today! All the links, story titles, commentary--all gone! And I was nearly done, too!

I HATE YOU, LJ!!!

*weeps*

Okay, just needed to vent and get that off my chest. Guess I'll go and try to re-create the post, although I don't know if I can remember or have the energy to re-write all the commentary. *sighs*

I hate it when that happens. It happened often enough for awhile that I started saving long posts like that in Word.

god I HATE that. sometimes when I go to post again, a draft reappears. not always.

when I do a looong reccs peice, I try to remember to do it in Word or something... maybe googledocs?

Oh, gods - I just did this nearly exact same thing yesterday, except that it was an overlong comment on a fic I'd fallen in love with. It was one of those pages where one can't see the fic when one is writing a comment, and I *meant* to click on the window *behind* so I could refer to the fic, which was up in that window, but clicked the back button instead. Horror and despair knew no bounds. When I clicked the forward button, sure enough, the comment box was empty. Arrrrgggghhhh. So, I'm feeling your pain, dear.

I definitely learned my lesson! This time I'm saving the second draft in google docs.

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't have time to finish the second draft, so I did save it in googledocs.

Oh yeah, I've done that before too! Well, at least I've learned my lesson--from now on, I'm saving stuff in google docs. (Although that doesn't really help when you're just writing a spontaneous comment.)

Anyway, thanks for the sympathy and cuppa, and I love your icon!
