Dear Yuletide Writer,

This is my second Yuletide, and I'm really excited to be participating again! Thank you so much for volunteering to write a fic for me! Please feel free to take a look around my journal if you want to see what kinds of stories I like. You can find my Fanfic Masterlist here, and the fics are also tagged by fandom and/or title in the sidebar. As you can see, I mostly read and write m/m slash, but if you don't feel comfortable writing that, I would be perfectly happy with a gen or het story, too!

Likes: Love stories with happy endings. Romantic fluff is fine, but I also like angsty fics--as long as they eventually end happily. For gen, I have a soft spot for stories about family or friendship. For both romance and gen: humor, drama, hurt/comfort--it's all good, as long as it ends happily. If you decide to write romance, I'm fine with any rating--explicit, steamy sex scenes are great, but I'm happy even if it doesn't go beyond a kiss or fade-to-black. The emotions that the characters share are more important to me than the level of physical affection.

Dislikes/squicks: Character death, noncon, infidelity, mpreg (not really expecting that in these fandoms, but just to be on the safe side). And I generally don't read BDSM unless I'm familiar with the author and know how they'll handle it. Also, it's not a big squick, but I'm not really into threesomes--I'm more of a "two people find true love" kinda gal.

Listed below are some prompt ideas for my chosen fandoms in case you'd like some suggestions, but I want to stress that these are only suggestions and you should feel free to follow your muse. If you come up with an idea that's completely different, it will be all the more exciting for me because it's a surprise, and I'm sure I'll be thrilled with whatever you come up with! :D

Haru wo Daiteita | Embracing love: I listed my favorite characters (Iwaki, Katou, Onozuka, and Kikuchi), but I would have chosen "any" if possible, because I would be happy to get a story about any character in this fandom, so feel to write about whomever you want--I love absolutely every character in the series, even the minor supporting ones! I ship Kikuchi/Onozuka in my fics, so it would be awesome if you wanted to write that pairing, but since it's purely fanon, don't feel like you have to. It would be fine if you wanted to include them as gen characters--perhaps Kikuchi is scheming to make trouble for Katou and Iwaki, and Onozuka counter-schemes to help his friends; or Kikuchi and Onozuka team up to play a (mostly) harmless prank on Iwaki and Katou; or just to see all four of them working on a movie together. If you do choose to write Kikuchi and Onozuka as a couple, I'd love to see Kikuchi and Onozuka having lovers' quarrels for the pleasure of making up later--maybe one day it goes too far and a fake quarrel becomes real, or maybe their coworkers get fed up with all the drama and decide to teach them a lesson.

If you prefer to concentrate on Iwaki and Katou, that's absolutely fine, too. It's even okay if you leave Kikuchi and Onozuka out of the story, although it would be nice if they had a small background role. With Iwaki/Katou, I enjoy seeing Katou doing romantic things for an embarrassed Iwaki, or Katou wanting the reserved Iwaki to be more romantic. Or maybe they get into a fight over a misunderstanding, and the story is about how they make up. (Bonus points if Onozuka helps them get back together again! ^_^)

In Death - J.D. Robb: Once again, I picked my four favorite characters (Eve, Roarke, Peabody, and Charles), but feel free to write about any character(s) that you want, because I love all of them! I love how prickly and standoffish Eve is, but how she lets down her guard for the few people that she loves and trusts--Roarke, of course, and good friends like Peabody. And I enjoy seeing Roarke do romantic things for his "darling Eve," even if she is flustered and bemused by the gesture--which is what makes it fun, I suppose!

Eve/Roarke-centric fic would be fine, but I would love it if you wrote a story that gave Peabody and/or Charles the spotlight, because I really adore them! I like McNabb and Louise, but I must admit that I was rooting for Peabody and Charles to get together, so I'd love a Charles/Peabody fic if you think you'd enjoy writing that ship--either as AU, or if you prefer to stick to canon, you could show them dating before Peabody and McNabb (and Charles and Louise) became a couple. If you're not comfortable with shipping them, I would also be very happy with a gen Charles/Peabody friendship fic. ETA: I meant to mention, one of the reasons why I love Charles so much is that he can call Eve "Lieutenant Sugar"--and get away with it! ;-)

Other ideas: Charles helping Eve and Peabody out on a case, something that requires his expertise as an LC. Or just the four of them hanging out together on their day off--maybe Roarke wants to fire up the grill, and invites Peabody and Charles (and anyone else you'd like to include) over for a cookout.

And this is 100% optional because I wasn't able to request more than four characters, but if you're a slasher like me and the idea strikes your fancy, I would enjoy seeing Charles shipped with the male character of your choice (other than Roarke). Or hey, if you'd like to write about a bisexual Charles fantasizing about Roarke, go for it, as long as the real Roarke isn't cheating on Eve! I'm currently toying with a couple of plot bunnies--Charles helping Webster get over Eve, or Charles going out on a date with Trueheart (because I like the idea of the suave LC with the innocent rookie cop)--and I may write them myself after Yuletide is over. I know I'm restricted to my four selected characters, so once again, don't feel like you have to write it--I'm just throwing the bunnies out there in case you or anyone else browsing the letter wants to play with them.

Kan You Shouju | Dolls | Plants Doll: I'm a fan of Pet Shop of Horrors, so the Dolls manga appealed to me because it had a similar premise: androgynously beautiful shop owner sells living merchandise of a magical/supernatural nature. I've actually written a Petshop/Dolls crossover, and if PSOH is one of your other offered fandoms, feel free to go for it if you want to, though of course I don't expect or require a crossover fic.

I selected the Dolls Shop Owner and The Artist because they are my two favorite characters. In the manga, it says that The Artist continues to stop by and visit the shop even after he completes the portrait of Rainy Moon, so there's plenty of opportunity for them to form a deeper relationship--I like to ship them together, but as always, I would also be happy with a gen friendship fic. They're both rather mysterious and I'd like to know more about them: how did the Owner come to run the shop, and is he human or some sort of supernatural being? Why was The Artist cursed (or gifted, depending on your POV) to have the subjects of his portraits die? Is there a way to free him from the curse, and would he choose to be rid of it if he could? (Oh, and feel free to make up names for them if you want!)

If you would prefer to concentrate on the dolls, that is fine, too! I nominated Rainy Moon and Moon Blossom because those were the two stories that intrigued me most, but feel free to write about any doll that you want, or even to make up an OC doll if you'd like to. If you want to write about Rainy Moon, I'd like to know if "the geezer" ever managed to win her over. It would also be interesting to see what would have happened if The Artist had managed to complete his portrait of her. For Moon Blossom: why did she survive when the tiara usually kills its Plant Doll host? Or maybe a story about what happens to her and the two siblings after she "grows up" and they leave the rich man's mansion.

MacGyver (TV): I loved this show, and I used to secretly ship MacGyver with Murdoc in my head before I'd even heard of fanfiction! One of my favorite episodes was the one where Mac and Murdoc team up to rescue Murdoc's sister, so I'd love to see a fic where they have to work together again. Maybe they are trying to escape from a mutual enemy. Or maybe Murdoc's sister didn't really die in a skiing accident, and they have to rescue her again. Or maybe Murdoc was finally arrested, and (in a premise similar to the White Collar TV show) in order to stay out of prison, he is forced to help track down other bad guys--naturally, he needs a keeper, which is where Mac comes in.

Obviously I'd love some Mac/Murdoc shippiness, but gen fic in which they are simply reluctant allies is fine, too--I'm just happy to see any Mac and Murdoc interaction! If you do decide to write a slash fic, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Murdoc cross-dressing. In my personal fanon, Mac was attracted to Murdoc when they first met, believing that Murdoc was "Sarah," and maybe it's a little easier for Mac to acknowledge that attraction when Murdoc is dressed like a woman--although I'm sure the whole assassin thing is much more of a problem than any confusion or conflict over being gay/bisexual! ;-)
