J-dramas
I've been craving discussion about J-dramas, but there doesn't seem to be a general discussion comm on LJ, though there are comms dedicated to specific shows or actors. So I started a thread on Fail Fandon Anon, and there's a nice discussion going on there. (And yes, I'm de-anoning myself, but I don't mind people knowing who I am, since I'd be happy to talk about in namespace as well.) If you want to talk dramas with us, come over and join in! One nonnie just reminded me of how much I love the show Team Batista (sort of a medical and detective drama combined--the two main character investigate suspicious deaths in a hospital).
It's difficult to get hold of subtitled shows, but there are a couple of legal options: Dramafever streams mostly Korean dramas, but does have a small selection of J-dramas. And Crunchyroll, the anime streaming site, now also has some live dramas--looks like a mix of Korean and Japanese. Some dramas I can recommend are Tokyo Dogs and Galileo 2 (both detective dramas) on Dramafever. Curiously, Crunchroll has the first Galileo series (both are fun, but the actress playing the female lead was replaced in Season 2, so I prefer the first season). And ooh, I just noticed they have 101st Proposal! I bought the import unsubbed dvd set because I loved the main actor in the Kinpachi Sensei series, but was missing a lot of details due to my not-so-fluent Japanese.
Well, I really need to work on my Yuletide story, but maybe after I'm done writing, I'll reward myself with a video watching spree!
