My Yuletide Gifts: Foreigner and Bunny Drop
I lucked out again and got two awesome gift fics for Yuletide this year! One is for the Foreigner SF novels by C.J. Cherryh, and the other is for the Usagi Drop | Bunny Drop manga/anime series:

After finishing the latest Foreigner novel, Tracker, I was craving post-canon fic about Cajeiri and Irene, and this satisfies it nicely. The two are perfectly in character, and I love that the story gave me a new insight into Irene's character. I can't say too much more because I'm trying to be vague and not give away spoilers for those who aren't caught up with the series yet, but I really loved it and feel like it could have been an epilogue to the actual novel.

I've asked for this fandom before with no takers, so I was thrilled to finally get a Bunny Drop story this year! It has the all the cute Daikichi and Rin family feelings that I love about the canon, and my author went the extra mile and included Kouki and his mother per my optional request even though they weren't officially nominated this year. I ship Daikichi and Nitani-san, and was rooting for them to get together in canon, so I was really happy to get a fic with them taking the first step towards becoming a family together, along with Rin and Kouki. And Rin and Kouki are so adorable at the zoo, making animal faces and noises at each other--it's so in-character that I can picture it happening in canon!
I'm really sad that this story isn't getting more love, so if you like Bunny Drop, please go read it and leave a kudos or comment!
