geri_chan | Hogwarts classroom

You guys may have already seen this, but I just stumbled across it while listening to my backlog of Mugglecast podcasts on my iPod. (I stopped listening to avoid spoilers for the Fantastic Beasts movie, which I only got around to seeing on dvd a few months ago. Maybe I'll review it for a later post, but I digress.)

Anyway, I was listening to Episode 338: Quizzitch, which features guest host Kyle, a real life math teacher who spent several weeks of his summer vacation decorating his classroom to look like a Hogwarts classroom--check out the link, it's incredible! His students are divided into the four Houses and they compete (in math quizzes and stuff) to earn points towards the "House Cup"! I think it's a cool way to share his love of Harry Potter and make learning fun. I wish I'd had a teacher like him, although the Potter books hadn't been published when I was a kid, so I couldn't have had a Hogwarts classroom.
