Trading Places update

Yay, I got my first two choices for Trading Places! ^_^ So now I can reveal that they are Bell Dancer and A Sort of Fairytale by karasu_hime! [Unknown site tag] I'm so happy! Karasu, I already sent you an email, but I'll just mention again that if you have any special requests for your fics, let me know.

I also had my eye on aleoninc's Red, but I wasn't sure that I could finish 3 fics by the deadline, so I had to let that one go. But two other writers have already claimed it, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with. The image inspires a sort of darker feeling than the usual sort of comfort fic (a little angsty, but always ends happily) that I tend to write, so it would have been interesting to try writing in a different genre. Maybe I'll give it a try some other time, but I doubt that I could ever write anything truly dark! ;)

And I squealed with delight when I saw that Karasu had claimed my story "Summer Vacation"! I have to admit, I was secretly hoping that she would pick one of my stories, and now I can't wait to see what she comes up with!

Okay, now I have to get to work writing my stories!

I look forward to seeing your stories and karasu_hime's art - but I'm really writing this to tell you how much I'm enjoying your writing at Yahoo! - I'm currently about 1/2 way through Aftermaths and I'm really enjoying your characterization of Snape and the way his softer side is revealed, in this story sequence, in particular.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying it! Heh, it always amazes me a little that readers are willing to slog through such a long fic, but Aftermaths really is one of my favorites--I loved writing all the little details about Snape's and Lupin's and the kids' personal lives and daily routines that would never make it into a published book because it would be too long.

And yeah, Snape's a secret softie! ;) Though he would hex anyone but Lupin who dared to call him that.
