Archive of Our Own invite

I have one A03 (Archive of Our Own) invitation to give away to the first responder, if anyone's interested. I just have one story posted there that I co-authored with Snapelike (the Iwaki/Katou fic Birthday Surprise), but the only reason I've held back from posting more is that the Harudaki fics don't seem to get any comments, aside from a couple written for the Yuletide fest. I may still get around to uploading my other fics eventually, when I have more free time.

Anyhow, if you want the invite just let me know.

Don't need an invite, as I'm on the site myself and have an invite to share as well that I need to post about.

I don't think you'll get comments there unless you link to AO3 instead of your journal. Its main purpose is as an archive that will always be around because it's run by a non-profit organization that will exist even if its founders move on, get busy, die, or whatever, will always take any fandom and any rating, is more anonymous than a journal, and will defend fanworks against legal claims.

Oh yeah, I understand the concept and I think that's pretty cool. I was just puzzled by the lack of comments because the fics seem to get a lot of hits, so someone's reading them. Of course, I don't know how many people are clicking out of curiosity and finding the fic not to their taste, or if it's the same person reading it several times, or if it's someone who already read it on LJ/IJ and so didn't feel the need to comment again. And I know the ratio of lurkers to commenters is pretty high. No one's entitled to comments, of course, but I found it a bit curious.

I probably will archive my Haru fics there eventually, just to have a backup.

I think, being so large, it's more impersonal. Since whoever reads doesn't know you, unless you're linking readers from your LJ/IJ/DW, they don't comment. It's not like a single-fandom archive, where there might be more reviews, and I suspect most of the readers are adults, unlike FFN, where people leave reviews for encouragement and to squee. Also, one-shots get a lot fewer reviews/comments than series or multi-chapter fics, particularly if you post one chapter at a time.

Hi hi!! i dunno how this A03 thing works, but i'll keep reading your fic--all of it--as long as you keep writing them!! =) So, should i continue to follow you on LJ or on that Archive thingy?? *am a click away from friending you so i can keep up, especially since it's quite official that Haru is over, sniffles*

You can continue to follow me on LJ--that's the primary place that I'll be posting my fics, along with my Insane Journal. If I do cross-post on A03, it'll be as a backup and/or to try and pick up some new readers who aren't on LJ, but I'll always post on LJ and IJ first. Feel free to friend away, if you like! ^_^

Goodie, i follow the KikuchixOnozuka very, very happily, heh, and the harudaki too, only wishing that there were more all the time =) Every time Iwaki and Katou appear in the KikuchiOno stories, they steal the limelight away for just a little while, hee =) Thanks muchly, i just did!! =)
