Neil Gaiman on Arthur!

This is a heads-up for any Neil Gaiman fans on my F-list: he's making a guest appearance on the PBS animated children's show Arthur! (All the characters on the show are anthropomorphic animals, which is why Neil is drawn as a cat, in case you were wondering.) The show will air October 25th, so mark your calendars and set your vcrs/digital recorders!

Actually, I have to sheepishly admit that I used to watch Arthur when I was on vacation or home sick from work--enough episodes to know that the little girl standing in line for Neil's autograph is named Sue Ellen. Although my favorite character is the not-too-bright ballet-dancing bully Binky, who's actually a softie beneath his tough exterior. Clifford the Big Red Dog (title character voiced by the late John Ritter) is another guilty pleasure--the book was a favorite of mine when I was a little kid.

I used to read Arthur picture books when I was little. Plus I loved the Graveyard Book. Actually I constantly read young adult fiction and often think it's some of the best writing out there.

I always browse the YA section of the library and bookstore--there are a lot of great books, especially in the fantasy and science fiction genres. And I love the Graveyard Book--I bought the audiobook version so I could listen to Neil reading it!

And thanks for the v-gift! I'm sure Count is looking forward to the sweets. ^_^

Thanks, Geri-chan . . . I love Neil Gaiman and we still watch Arthur when my daughter gets home from school so we'll be sure not to miss it!

You're welcome! I'm really looking forward to it myself.

And somehow, Sue Ellen seems like the type who would like Neil Gaiman books. ;-)
