30-Day Fanfic Writing Meme, Day 9

9. Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?

Petshop: My favorite pairing hands-down is Leon/D, of course. After that it would be Daiki/Raphael, although I don't know if they really count since technically they're based on characters from the Dolls manga by Yumiko Kawahara. (I wrote a Petshop/Dolls crossover fic called Daiki in which the Dolls shopowner was the son of Leon and D.) If we're counting only canon characters, then my second favorite pairing would be Tet-chan/Chris. Third is a toss-up between Papa D/Vesca and Sofu D/Souki--although Souki is actually a character from Akino-sensei's other series Genju no Seiza, but since Sensei occasionally crosses over the two series herself, I figure that it's fair game. And right now Sofu D/Souki is pre-slash rather than a real pairing in my Petshop fic series--it's mostly Souki taking a slightly sadistic pleasure in pursuing a reluctant Sofu.

Snupin (Harry Potter): Favorite pairing is Snape/Lupin, of course, followed by Theodore/Blaise. Again, if OCs count, my next favorite pair to write would probably be Ash/Tsubasa or Lukas/Narcissa. Once again, if we're sticking only to canon characters, I enjoy writing Kingsley/Tonks. And while I only did it once, I did have a lot of fun writing that female-Snape/Sirius fic.

Haru: Kikuchi/Onozuka, Iwaki/Katou, and Yoshizumi/Kenzaki. Mochimune/Miyasaka would be on the list, but I've only written hints of it so far--I'm planning to get more in-depth with that pairing in a later fic.

Theo/Blaise??? Really? (Kingsley/Blaise FTW! :P)

Well, since I started writing them pre-HBP, they're almost OCs. They were two "extra" Slytherins that we didn't know much about, and apparently not part of Draco's in-crowd. It seemed like a good opportunity to write them as Slytherins who didn't want to be Death Eaters but didn't want to be noble "risk my life to save the world" Gryffindor types either. And after that, it seemed natural to pair them together.

I did write canon Theo and Blaise as friends with hints of pre-slash in one fic, though (Return of the Slytherins). The guy in my icon (singer Ben Jelen) is my version of Theo, btw. Probably a little prettier than he would be in canon, but hey, Slytherins need a little extra love since JKR didn't give it to them, right? ~_^

Kinsgley/Blaise sounds intriguing! I'm sure I could read it if someone else wrote it, but for some reason that I can't really explain, I got fixated on Kingsley/Tonks during OOTP, and now I find it hard to write them with anyone else.

I think it is one of the more used Theo/anyone or Blaise/anyone pairings - there is quite a lot of fic out there, it seems. I never really had any interest in Theo, perhaps that's why I never really thought about them. But it makes sense the way you explain them.

Icon!Boy is pretty. And yeah, Theo-ish, as I see him.

Kingsley... *snuggles him madly* He's the new black, it seems, at least for those who've trouble writing AU!Snape after DH. I played Kingsley in RP for a year (yes, with elfflame's adorable Blaise) and I really, really like the guy. He's versatile. I mean... I've written him with Tonks (they go so well together) and oh... he should be with Neville, Draco, Ted, Moody, Percy, Marcus, Blaise, (and Snape, because Snape goes with anyone except Potter and Granger). There needs to be more Kingsley-fic! Huh, now that I think of it, I've written Kingsley with Percy too. :D

With Theo, I was intrigued by the fact that he could see the Thestrals in OOTP, and I started wondering whose death he saw, and I came up with the idea that his Death Eater father had killed someone that he cared about. Or alternately, that his mother died doing some sort of Dark Magic research for the Death Eaters. Either way, it gave him good reason to hate the DEs. And pre-HBP, Blaise was a convenient blank slate. Post-DH, he's quite interesting, with the black widow mother. (I actually have a plot bunny about that, that all her husbands die because of a curse on her, not because she's poisoning them or something.)

I need to go look up some of those Kingsley fics now! ^_^

Oh, yes, that's right - about Theo. It is indeed interesting, and reason for many plotb- er- musings.

Blaise... I think that is a brilliant idea, with his mother being cursed.

I am reccing one of Alisanne's Kingsley fics in a moment, Kingsley/Neville, in fact. Really, really lovely and hot.
