Jim Hines: Slashy Christmas and E-book Sale

Fantasy author Jim Hines (I reviewed his Princess series here) has been posting humorous parodies of Christmas carols on his blog. Those of you who like slash and yaoi might enjoy "Have Yourself a Slashy Little Christmas" with lyrics like:

Have yourself a slashy little Christmas.
Throw canon aside.
Give Harry
And Draco one last “broomstick ride.”


I quite like that in the comments, someone mentioned Snupin fic, and although Jim hadn't heard the term "Snupin" before, he was able to figure out that it was Snape/Lupin. (A pairing after my own heart!) ^_^ And I like that the humor is affectionately tongue in cheek, rather than poking fun at those crazy slashers. Not that Jim is the type to mock slashers anyway, and his Princess series features a gay character (Talia), so femslash is canon in his books.

Jim is also having a sale on two of his e-books, both short story collections: Goblin Tales will be 99 cents and Kitemaster will be $2.99 (for two weeks starting from Dec. 19th, although he says that he may make the 2.99 price permanent for Kitemaster). The books are available in both Kindle and Nook editions from Amazon and Barnes & Noble respectively, so it's a great chance to sample Jim's work at a bargain price to see if you like it.

Glad you liked the carol! The Princess books are my favorites, but you can't go too wrong for 99 cents. Oh, and he also has a pretty funny song about zombie trees, too.
