Misc HP links + Snupin Remix Challenge
Just thought I'd share a couple of HP-related links that I came across, along with a bit of self promotion...
The Mugglenet Academia podcast recently had an interesting episode on Fan Fiction and Copyright Law, with intellectual property attorney (and HP fan) Heidi Tandy as a guest.
Author Lev Grossman posted on his blog that he writes short Harry Potter fanfics to entertain his eight-year-old daughter Lily. How cool is that? (And with a name like that, how can she not be a Harry Potter fan? ^_^) Apparently Buckbeak is one of her favorite characters, and you can download the Buckbeak hurt-comfort fic that Grossman wrote, with Lily (his daughter, that is) as the character who tends to the wounded Buckbeak. It's a really sweet and adorable fic, with a nice touch of humor: Buckbeak thinks of Hagrid as "an unusually large and hairy but otherwise kind human" who looks after him and is named "Haggy or Hogger or something like that."

lupin_snape is having a Remix Challenge in which participants can remix another writer/artist's Snupin fics or art. (The rules of the challenge state that the fics must have been written before Deathly Hallows came out in July 2007.) I've offered up a few of my older fics, and am quite thrilled to see that one of them has already been claimed by a writer who is currently writing one of my favorite Snupin fics! (There's one stand-alone fic still available, and anything in the Always series up until Scars is up for grabs.) There are also lots of other great stories and art being offered by other writers/artists, so go take a look if you think you'd be interested.
