Superman songs

Once again, too tired to write up a lengthy post. (*Sigh*...and I had all these plans to write up book reviews and lengthy meta posts for National Blog Posting Month. Maybe I'll carry over some of those ideas into December.) So I'm going to steal borrow an idea from [livejournal.com profile] lore and post a song list.

Awhile back, I was going through my iTunes collection and discovered that there were several songs about Superman in there. Something about him appeals to rock bands, I guess? Anyway, I put them all into a Superman playlist:

Jimmy Olsen's Blues - The Spin Doctors
Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
Superman (It's Not Easy) - Five for Fighting
Superman (Scrubs theme song) - Lazlo Bane
Real World - Matchbox Twenty

Technically, that last one isn't really about Superman, per se, and it doesn't mention him by name, but the second verse is obviously referencing Superman, so I figure that it qualifies:

I wonder what it's like to be a super hero
I wonder where I'd go if I could fly around downtown
From some other planet, I get this funky high on yellow sun
Boy I bet my friends will all be...stunned, they're stunned

And it's not about Superman, but I also have:
Theme from "Greatest American Hero" (Believe It or Not) - Joey Scarbury

Know of any other Superman or superhero songs that I missed?

About not Superman but another DC superhero, I've long enjoyed The Ballad Barry Allen by Big Jim's Ego:

Wish I'd never gone into my lab
To experiment that night
Before lightning flashed around me
And time changed speed
Now I gotta try to be so patient
Til calamity will strike
Because when things change in an instant
It's almost fast enough for me

. . .

And you say the time goes rushing by
But it seems so slow to me
And you see a blur around you fly
But it takes too long
It seems so slow

Very cool! I'll have to look up the song and check it out.
