Moonlight slashiness

And now for something a little lighter than my last post...my comments on last night's episode of the Moonlight tv show--you know, the one about the vampire detective?

Warning, spoilers below...

Okay, so our hero, Mick, was turned into a vampire against his will many years ago, and has been yearning to become human again ever since. Back before the writer's strike, he found a temporary cure. So now he's human again, and enjoying soaking up the sunlight and being able to eat real food.

However, there are some disadvantages to being human, too. He no longer has his vampire super-strength and speed and senses. His love interest, Beth, gets kidnapped by a vampire, and now-human-Mick has his ass seriously kicked by said vamp. He realizes that he can't rescue her as he is now, so he begs his vampire friend Jozef to bite him and make him into a vampire again. He hates being a vampire, but he's willing to make the sacrifice to save Beth.

After a bit of arguing, Jozef gives in, saying, "Forgive me," and he sinks his teeth into Mick's neck. Now I like the show very much, and the actor who plays Mick is very handsome, but I've never felt the urge to slash him with Jozef or anyone else. I was content just to take it at face value. Maybe I've been reading too much slash, but when Jozef bit Mick, I found myself thinking, "Wow, that's hot!" ;) It doesn't help restrain my slashy urges when Mick slowly falls to the floor, wrapping his arms around Jozef. I was watching the show with my mom, so I had fight the urge to squeal with glee like an hysterical fan girl!

So wow, I might have a new slash couple! I must say, Jozef is actually my favorite character on the show. I love his cheerful sarcasm and amoral charm. He's a guy who enjoys being a vampire and unlike Mick, has no angsty qualms about biting people and drinking their blood. But somehow this cynic became friends with the idealistic Mick, and it's obvious that he cares a lot about him. Up until now, I would have said platonically, but now, hmmm...? ^_^
