Fanfic Tropes Meme (#19-21)

19. Do you read porn or does it make you uncomfortable?
20. Do you like PWPs?
21. How and when did you get introduced to smut fic? Any horror stories?
I do read porn and it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, although maybe it did a bit when I first started reading fanfic and had no idea how explicit things could get.
I don't mind PWPs, but I prefer my porn to come with a plot. It doesn't have to be a long or complicated plot; a nice little slice-of-life ficlet is fine, as long as it shows me enough characterization to make me believe that the characters love or at least like each other enough to be having hot sex--or in the case of hate!sex, to persuade me that the two enemies feel such uncontrollable lust that it overcomes their hate, at least for the moment. Basically, I don't want to just see two interchangeable bodies getting it on. I'm into fanfic for the characters, so the way that the characters are portrayed is the most important part for me, and it's just the icing on the cake if the story leads them to have tender (or playful or hot or desperate, etc.) lovemaking.
I had read a few Petshop fics before I stumbled into Snupin fandom, but those were pretty much in PG territory. I first stumbled across smut when I started shipping Snape/Lupin in my head, and went hunting on the internet to see if there were any other like-minded people out there. A simple "Snape fan fiction" search brought up a ton of links--I think the first smut I stumbled across was Snape making a female student stay after class for a spanking that was clearly leading to some smut, but I hastily backbuttoned out of there before the smutty part really got going. That was my first intro to the kinky side of HP fanfic! I have to admit, I was a bit shocked at the time, though I'm much more jaded now. ~_^ I can't really say that I have any horror stories, though.
I got my first start reading explicit Snupin fic on The Parapet archive. The stories were written years before the series ended (I think most of them are pre-Book 4 or Book 5), so they've long since been jossed by canon, but I still have a few favorites there like Red-Handed by Dragon and Dovielr and A Little Out of Tune by Minx. (The latter isn't really smutty, but makes excellent use of the lyrics to "Closer" by NIN.)
