Fanfic Tropes Meme (#39) + HP/PSOH crossover
AU:
39. Favorite AU fic?
Tough question. If we're talking about AU in the sense that the characters are put into a completely different world and not just a world where canon took a slightly different path, I'd probably go with The Tale of the Tengu Prince and the Wolf by Omni, which I mentioned in this earlier post, because the author does such a great job in placing the characters in a completely different world (feudal Japan), while still keeping their personalities recognizable.

lithiumdelusion wrote a wonderful Harry Potter/Petshop of Horrors crossover called Wanderlust, in which PSOH's Jill meets and befriends Snape, who is hiding out in the Muggle world. Unfortunately, it's a WIP that was never finished and appears to have been abandoned, but the chapters that exist are still lovely to read, and seemed to be heading towards a Snape/Jill pairing where the story left off. Normally I ship Snape with Lupin, but Jill and Snape make a surprisingly good couple, and I would love to have read more of the series. I've collected the individual chapters together in my Memories for easy access.
