Yellow Peril

I've raved before about the Yellow Peril webcomic by Jamie Noguchi, which follows the adventures of Asian American office worker Kane and his friends. If you haven't been reading it, my fellow yaoi and slash fans should check out the latest strip!

Basic premise is: Kane and his friends Bodie and Ally have left the advertising firm that they work for to start their own business, and one of their current projects is to design a new website for Kane's cousin Lance, a gay porn star who uses the stage name "Hung Low". Friday's strip is mostly Bodie and Ally discussing the website, but the third panel shows a scene from one of Lance's movies (which is somewhat NSFW, so click at your own discretion). The dude isn't just a porn star, he is a Kung Fu porn star, and can fight off bad guys while having sex! It is totally hilarious and kinda hot at the same time, and I can totally see someone writing fanfic of this!

I should add that YP isn't usually this slashy or risque; Lance is a supporting character who shows up from time to time, but the main focus is on Kane (who is straight), and his troubles with work and romance. However, it is LGBT friendly: along with Lance, there is also regular character Ally, who is bisexual (and recently began a relationship with burlesque dancer Annie after breaking up with her boyfriend). And I quite like how Ally's relationship with said boyfriend Greg was handled: he wasn't made out to be the bad guy, and in fact was a very nice person, but for various reasons, things just didn't work out between them. The relationship with Annie is still new, so I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out between them.  I think Jamie develops all the characters (both straight and LGBT) very well: the comic is mostly humorous, but there are some more serious story arcs that let us see a different side to them and get deeper into their characters. Even evil boss Steve, who appears to be a two-dimensional villain at first, eventually develops some humanity, something that surprised me but that I really liked.
