Slashy NUMB3RS trivia

As I mentioned in this previous post, I've been watching the Season 2 dvd set of NUMB3RS. I've seen all the episodes when they first aired, sometimes multiple times in reruns, but it's fun watching them again, and I really enjoy listening to the cast and crew commentaries.

So I was listening to the commentary for "In Plain Sight" with David Krumholz (Charlie) and Diane Farr (Megan) on disc #2. (It's the episode where an FBI agent gets killed in an explosion when they break into a house containing a meth lab. Charlie finds a pornographic image of a child on the bad guy's computer, and he and Don butt heads because Don's first priority is to find the guy who killed the agent, while Charlie desperately wants to save the child.)

Towards the end of the episode, Diane points out that this is where the Larry/Megan romance begins, and said that it was her own idea, because she loved Peter MacNicol (who plays Larry) in the movie Sophie's Choice. And then David jokes that he'd actually wanted Charlie and Larry to date because that would be an interesting twist, but the show chose to go with the heterosexual choice. He then adds that Peter was more into the idea than he was. ^_^

And while I'm not into incest fanfics, if there are any Don/Charlie shippers out there, check out the commentary for "Scorched" on disc #3. (That's the one where they're trying to find an arsonist; Bill Nye the Science Guy guest starred in it.) Right at the very end of the episode, where Charlie and Don are trying to fix a stuck valve in the bathroom, Charlie is reaching down below camera level, and David said it looks like he's doing "something bad" and it was good that they ended the scene there. (It looks like he could be grabbing Don's crotch instead of the valve, for those of you with dirty minds. ^_^ I swear I never noticed that until he pointed it out!)

For all I know, there could be more slashy bits on the other discs, but I only managed to make it halfway through the set. I borrowed it from the library, and I had to return it today. I'll try to get it back again later, or maybe I'll buy it if I can find it on sale. There should be some good sales coming up for the holidays, or maybe after Christmas.

Oh, and a bit of trivia for Bones fans--the actress who plays Camille guest starred on the episode "The O.G." (also on disc #3). That was the episode where an undercover agent was killed in what appears to be a gang-related drive-by shooting. She played the community center worker who clashed with David (the character, not the actor), but softened at the end when he came back to volunteer there. The actors and crew on the commentary were saying they might like to have her back someday, but I'm guessing that's unlikely now that she's on Bones.

(I have no NUMB3RS icons, so I'm using my Eric-Stoltz-as-Lupin icon. Both Lupin and Stoltz's character from The Rules of Attraction are professors, so at least it has something in common with Professor Eppes. ^_^)
