Embracing Spring Fest

I'm very excited about the Embracing Spring fest! (The fest will take place here on LJ, for maximum participation.) It's an fan art/fic exchange based on Youka Nitta's manga; regular readers on my F-list know that Haru wo Daiteta is my favorite Nitta title. (It was published as "Embracing Love" in the US, although the literal translation is closer to "Embracing Spring," hence the fest title, I assume.)

Prompts can be submitted here until the 30th January 11.59 pm, GMT, and sign-ups begin 1st February 00.01 am, GMT.

I'm trying to think of some good prompts, for characters/stories I'd like to see, but would have difficulty writing myself. For example, I love Kaneko and Yoshizumi, but have difficulty getting inside in their heads and figuring out how they think. I'd love to see some other writer's vision of them.

I'm particularly excited, as I've reluctantly decided that I probably won't be participating in [livejournal.com profile] lupin_snape's BLU (Bigger, Longer, and Uncut) project, which is a Big Bang type challenge, where authors write novel-length fic for artists to illustrate. I actually am working on a novel-length post-DH plot bunny, but I don't think it really fits the challenge criteria. BLU is supposed to be a celebration of the Snupin pairing, and my story is more about how their relationship falls apart, and there's a lot of non-Snupin content, so I've decided to just keep working on it as an independent project. I don't really want to start a second novel-length Snupin at this point, so I'm doubly excited about Embracing Spring, which should be more manageable time-wise, although I'm sure that I'll probably far exceed the 500-word minimum, me being my usual long-winded self! I've been finding myself very inspired by Harudaki lately, with my Hamlet parody and my ongoing Kikuchi/Onozuka series--the writing has really been flowing pretty smoothly, to the point where the characters are practically writing the story for me. (With a few delays and bumps along the road due to some research I've been doing on Onozuka's hometown; I'll write more about that in the Going Steady Part 2 afterword.)

I haven't forgotten my beloved Snupin ship, though, and I promise I will eventually get back to my favorite werewolf and snarky Potions Master! ^_^
