Fic rec: The Mirror in the Wolf's Eyes
Jan. 4th, 2008 12:58 pmI was going to rec this story on
snapedom, but then I realized that it might not be appropriate, because it's really more about Lupin than Snape. But I did want to rec it somewhere, because I think it's an excellent story:
Title: The Mirror in the Wolf's Eyes
Author: Anonymous; was written for Snupin Santa 2007
Pairing: Snape/Lupin
Rated: R
Summary: “To try to understand a wolf with human eyes is like trying to view your reflection in a muddied lake. You must use the mirror of the wolf's eyes, to understand your own human limitations.”
Word count: ~15,500
I love stories about werewolf packs, and this one does an excellent job of creating a very detailed culture and shamanistic set of rituals for the pack that Lupin joins. I also love that this Lupin, unlike canon-Lupin, has the strength to stand up to Tonks and Molly instead of letting them pressure him into a marriage that he doesn't want. And I don't want to give away the surprise, but I was very happy to learn the identity of the real father of Tonks's baby. ^_^ (Although if you know me well, you can probably guess from that who it is.)
