Twinkie shortage

As you may have heard, Hostess (the company that makes Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, etc.) is going out of business. The cupcakes and Ho-Ho's were favorite treats when I was a kid, so after hearing the news last night, I decided to go out and buy a pack or two for old time's sake. I stopped by the grocery store on the way to work this morning--and all the Hostess stuff except for a few bags of Donettes were completely cleaned out! Not a single Twinkie, Ding Dong, or Ho Ho to be found. I tried stopping by another store after work, but that one was also cleaned out, except for some doughnuts. (I guess nobody likes the doughnuts?) So no nostalgic pigging out on sugary, chemical-laden treats for me. *sigh*

Apparently there are people out there frantically hoarding boxes of Twinkies and Ho Hos like they were gold.
