Book review: Samurai Women 1184-1877
Jan. 5th, 2013 02:46 pmAt the library, I came across a very interesting book and thought I'd share it with those of you interested in Japanese history/culture: Samurai Women 1184-1877 by Stephen Turnbull. The story of the famous female warrior Tomoe Gozen is well known to those familiar with Japanese history, but Turnbull explains that samurai women have played a much bigger role, both on the battlefield and behind the scenes, than most people realize.
