Too tired to write up a lengthy post, so I'll share this link to an interesting NHK program that I recently watched: Kurara: The Dazzling Life of Hokusai's Daughter. It's a dramatization of the life of O-Ei, the daughter of the legendary artist Hokusai, showing how devoted she was to her father and his art, and how she blossomed as an artist in her own right. It's in two parts, and the first part has a short documentary segment before the drama starts. The videos will be up until Nov. 19th.
Which reminds me that there is also an anime movie about O-Ei called Miss Hokusai, which I haven't seen yet but is on my to-watch list.
