Brian Boitano/Japanese Christmas and KFC
Nov. 22nd, 2017 09:34 pmI'm not sure why--probably because it's figure skating season--but I have the song "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" stuck in my head, so here's a link to the South Park video. (Lyrics/dialogue slighty NSFW, obviously.) I love how fictional!Brian's exploits go from implausible-but-possible (doing "two salchows and a triple lutz while wearing a blindfold") to increasingly outrageous (fighting grizzly bears with his "magical fire breath"). ^_^
And Brian proves he has a sense of humor by congratulating the South Park team for their 200th episode. (Also slightly NSFW, except that the profanity has been bleeped out.) And he did borrow from the song's title for his cooking show, What Would Brian Boitano Make?
I know Brian once skated a routine to "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" (Wikipedia says for a holiday skating tv special), but unfortunately, I was unable to find a video of it online.
And on a completely unrelated note, I was watching the news on the Japanese language tv station, and I saw a segment about a popular actor (I recognize him but can't remember his name) doing a commercial for KFC, which seems to be something about using an app to order KFC for Christmas. I am still quite amused that Kentucky Fried Chicken has become a traditional holiday meal in Japan. As some of you might remember, I once wrote a Haru fic about it: Kentucky Fried Christmas. (And as always, whenever I hear about this tradition, I find myself craving fried chicken.)
