S - Saigo no Keikan
Nov. 12th, 2014 10:29 pmI am currently watching yet another J-drama, this one called S - Saigo no Keikan (The Last Policeman). It's about an idealistic young policeman (and former pro boxer) who is recruited to join a new "S" (Special) team that was formed to resolve terrorism and hostage cases without any loss of life to either the victims or the criminals. I started watching it because I like the lead actor (Mukai Osamu) and because I'll watch any police j-drama that I can get my hands on. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that the team commander is played by Omori Nao, who plays Washizu in the show I'm currently obsessed with, Hagektaka, which I've been blogging about recently. The contrast in characters is interesting: while Washizu is cold and reserved, and usually impeccably dressed in business attire, Commander Kashii is easy-going and a bit scruffy, though he is very competent at his job despite his laid-back demeanor.
Obviously it was just a coincidence, but I thought it was kind of funny that Omori just happened to pop up in the two dramas that I'm watching.
